Final Destination 5

I was never too big of a Final Destination Fan since the first one. The first one scared the life out of me, but the following ones, not so much, but 5 takes the cake. I first thought the first 20 minutes was crazy, but the end in the end I was truly taken aback.
People may be disillusioned with this film, because they think the films are redundant, but NO, if you saw & enjoyed the first one, you will enjoy this one, I believe it's the best one yet & my friends who went with me say the same.
I don't want to give away anything, but it will make sense, just know, it will make sense.
GO SEE IT! Trust me, you won't regret it, but make sure your prepared for the gore.

the mystery man

The-weeknd-s-7929_large

So I've been listening to The Weeknd for a while now, I love Abel Tesfaye's voice mannnn. I'm going to assume that majority of human being know who The Weeknd is now, since Drake has been talking about him heavy, but still you can't find much out about him, he's hella mysterious. Performing at OVO Fest has taken away some of the mystery, but I have been trying to find an interview of Mr. Tesfaye, so I go to youtube & google, trying to find SOMETHING... I find NOTHING, only the music & blurry black & white pictures. So today someone I follow on twitter tweeted a link that led me to this video:

which came from THIS site.
It's an older video, it's from like November 2010, but it's the closest I've come to finding an interview that has been captured on camera.
Well, with his fame rising, maybe we'll see an interview surface... or maybe he'll just remain a mystery man. Oh yeah & I'm impatiently waiting for Thursday & this rumored NYC show.

the throne

So Watch Throne Dropped today for digital purchase, because I bought a ticket to the concert, I got my digital copy at midnight, BUT the fines where all corrupted & songs kept skipping (this is why I always buy the hard copy when I do in fact purchase albums) SO I took that L & bought it on iTunes (since I already had a few dollars from a gift card).
Any opinions i have on the album will be incredibly biased, I've loved Kanye West & Jay-Z for as long as I can remember, they really can do no wrong in my eyes, so of course I love this album. I loved how it started off with No Church In The Wild. Frank Ocean's vocals really enriched the song, the beat is ILL, & of course Ye' & Hov killed their verses.
I do not have a degree in Music with a concentration in Hip-Hop, SO I'm not gonna sit up here & act like I know the scientific formula to create an amazing album, but I will let you know my favorites:
No Church in the Wild: Great opening for the album.
N----s In Paris: super ILL beat, ill lyrical content to match.
New Day: really like the fact that it's their messages to their unborn sons.
Who Gon' Stop Me: I don't know why, I just really like this song.
Murder to Excellence: The black nationalist in me loves the message.

I really love the whole album, but those are my top five as of right now. I'll see if I still feel this way after the first hundreds listens.

waiting....

I'm excited for the video, as well as whatever content he plans on dropping tonight. I love J. Cole... still impatiently waiting for September 27th...

Do ya think about me still? Do ya? Do ya?

This song is actually one of those songs that I should never listen to. It puts me in a nostalgic daze where I think about this one particular person & I get the urge to do some Marvin's Room shxt... good thing I don't have his number anymore, but anyways, I digress. The beat is hypnotic, the lyrics are real, I love this song. Frank Ocean is THAT GUY, had to make this my ringtone, take a listen if you haven't heard it already, or even if you had, listen again. Hopefully the radio doesn't get ahold of this song too soon, because I really don't want it to get played out.

Thinking About You - Frank Ocean

50/50

three words (well names): JOSEPH GORDON-LEVITT

I'm really excited about this movie, I'll probably cry, because movies make me cry, but it looks funny too, one of those all inclusive movies that make you laugh, cry, & "awww." Oh, & on top of that, I think I love Joseph Gordon-Levitt [blame (500) Days of Summer] & Seth Rogen is cool too.

take a hike...

so I went hiking today
(sorry, the quality of the pictures is shxtty, I took them on my phone)

watching the throne on november fifth...

Guess who's seeing these two fine gentlemen in concert. Guess! Well if you guessed ME, you are correct. woop, woop!

and another one?!

The premise for the original Paranormal Activity was better than the actual movie, and the second move was better than the first (but not much), so you think they would give it up... nope. They're at it again, with a third Paranormal Activity. Well, hopefully everything will come together with this third movie, because I don't know how many more mildly scary, cliff hanging movies in this saga I can take.

summer, summer, summertime...

No Strings Attached vs. Friends With Benefits

These two movies both had to deal with two people who decided they just wanted to be friends, but have sex with no other obligations or emotions. I saw both of them, I like the leads in both. Both movies were good, but I think that Friends With Benefits is hilarious, No Strings Attached is funny, but Friends With Benefits is just funnier. Although I really like Natalie Portman's character (she was actually funnier than I expected her to be), I felt like I could relate to the character Mila Kunis played better. As far as the male roles, Justin Timberlake was really funny, but him and Ashton Kutcher were about equal on the attractiveness scale if you ask me. I also liked the development of the characters in Friends With Benefits better.
Although these movies may seem pretty much the same, they have many differences that make the two movies unique. I liked them both, I would probably watch both of them again, but then again, I'm a sucker for romantic comedies, especially ones with attractive male leads. I'm curious to know what other people who have seen both movies think.

"I love it when you give me head, I hate it when you give me headaches."

I love J. Cole & I don't mind Trey Songz features. No word that this song will be on J. Cole's album [& I kinda doubt it because it has been rumored that the only features on Cole's album will be Jay-Z] but I can dig it nonetheless.

all hail the V

This commercial is hilarious! The first time I saw it, I bursted out into laughter. I wonder how guys feel about this commercial, lol.

Earlier today, a song that is said to be on Watch The Throne dropped ugh, more teasing! This is really making me anticipate the album even more. Well, here it goes, Otis:

better off thrifting.

so I needed a few more pairs of high-waisted shorts, I've looked online just to price when I didn't have time to go to the store & they are extremely over-priced, so I went thrifting today & found some nice ones.
I figured I'd compare the price of high-waisted shorts from a regular retail store to the ones I got from the thrift store.

Forever 21 High Rise Shorts - $15.80

Karen Scott Cotton-Polyester Shorts - Thirfted - $4.99
These fit really well, I just made one tiny adjustment, I folded the legs over & they fit perfectly.

Urban Outfitters - BDG High-Waisted 5-Pocket Short - $44

Exchange Black Denim Shorts - Thrifted - $3.99
These fit perfect. My afvorites out of the ones I got today.

Nasty Gal Green Star Vintage Cut-Off Shorts - $108

Riders Light Wash Denim Shorts - Thrifted - $3.99
These fit a little loose, & I'll probably got them off & destroy them a bit or tie-dye them, whatever the case, it still beats paying $108 for a pair of vintage shorts.

In addition to the fact that I already got these for good prices, today was 25% off at Unique, so these were actually cheaper than originally marked. Win.

waiting for the throne...

Kanye West & Jay-Z - Watch The Throne

The cover art surfaced a few weeks back & it's amazing if you ask me. It was designed by Riccardo Tisci, creative director for Givenchy, not that's some baller shxt. I personally can't wait for the album, Kanye West & Jay-Z are two of my favorite rappers or ALL time... ALL time, so the thought of this collaboration album brings joy to my heard. I actually want all the teasing to stop, I'm really anticipating this album.
So about a week or two ago, the tracklist surfaced. Looks pretty promising to me:

1. No Church in The Wild (Feat. Frank Ocean)
2. Lift Off (Feat. BeyoncĂ©)
3. Niggas in Paris
4. Otis (Feat. Otis Redding)
5. Gotta Have It
6. New Day
7. Prime Time
8. Who Gon Stop Me
9. Murder to Excellence
10. Welcome to The Jungle
11. Sweet Baby Jesus (Feat. Frank Ocean)
12. Love You So (Feat. Mr Hudson)

Deluxe Bonus Tracks
13. Illest Motherfucker Alive
14. H*A*M
15. That’s My Bitch
16. The Joy (Feat. Curtis Mayfield)

I hope this is legit. I just can't wait for this album to drop. Waiting impatiently until then.

"I asked God to protect me from my enemies, then I started losing friends."

I came across this quote at a point in my life where it was extremely relevant. It's still very relevant.

focus.

welcome to the bad girls club.

Now I love Wale & I LOVE J. Cole, so when their was talk about them collaborating on a track again, I couldn't wait. Rather Be With You & Beautiful Bliss are two other bomb tracks that have both J. Cole & Wale on them & I dig this Bad Girls Club joint as well. Check it out:

the introduction.

I had this blog for over a year, just chillin'.
I finally decided to actively use it, because I've grown disillusioned with tumblr.
anyway, this isn't a fashion blog, a music blog, a gossip blog or anything like that,
this is simply a blog where I put shxt that I like, vent about shxt I dislike, & whatever else my heart desires.
I don't know if this blog will get any readers or subscribers, but that's not really my goal, this is mainly just for me, but you're welcome to indulge if you wish.
